It’s been a year and what a year it’s been!

Well what a year it has been.  We took on Marlborough Wine Tours a year ago in December 2017 while still working full time, and being 6 months pregnant expecting our first (and probably only) baby!  We had no idea what to expect and couldn’t have known what a great success it would turn out to be for us.  Dean has found his calling, talking to people all day – loving the life in Marlborough and making new friends from all over the world.  Whilst I am mainly in the background on the email and in the office, I do try and get out to run tours whenever possible.  We have learnt so much about wine, the people who make it, everything that goes into selling it, and of course the work that goes on to produce it from vine to wine.

We have a great team of tour guides working with us to ensure everyone has a great tour.  Phil, Nic, and April as well as Ernie who was with us last summer, have really helped us develop our brand and tours to be receiving great reviews from our clients, and now an award from APAC for being the Best Luxury Wine Tour provider in Marlborough.  Rebranding and creating a new responsive and user friendly website has really helped our clients to have confidence in our service and book online without a worry.

We have tried to provide a family friendly service  – as we are now parents we know how important it is to still be able to travel and do the things we enjoy.  We have been doing a lot of group and private tours for familites to assist them having a great holiday.  Going the extra mile to provide the little things that help make life out a bit easier.

We partner with Beachcomber Cruises in Picton to provide the Ultimate Marlborough Day Out, a boat cruise in the morning out to Ships Cove in the Marlborough Sounds, and lunch and a wine tour in the afternoon – this is another family friendly activity that people have loved this year.  We have been really lucky with the weather this spring and our early bird tourists have made the most of it in November – it’s been a very busy start to the summer season.
